It is often said that the church is the people who attend; not the building they attend.
Theologically, this is certainly true, but there is no denying that an attractive church building can be quite eye-catching. From the glory of England's spectacular cathedrals to the variety of its parish churches, each building has a story to tell. St. Johns & Emmanuel are no exception.
At St. Johns, the pulpit, pipe organ, lecturn and stained glass windows are in many ways the focal points, but scratch beneath the surface and you will find fascinating stories of the buildings and the people who have worshipped in them.
Emmanuel, though on the face of it a much more modest building, has an interesting history and is used regularly to this day.
