History: 1970-1999
In the decades leading up to a new millennium, St. Johns saw exciting developments. Unfortunately, we do not currently have much information on this period for the website, but if you can help us with any recollections, we would be most grateful.
1990: The 'Reaching Out Project' began
The reordering of the church, including a new reception area, sound system, was the beginning of the project which would lead ultimately to the building of the St. Johns Centre.

1992: The 'Reaching Out Project' Phase 1 Completed
Phase One saw the Baptism Font moved to the front of the church, the installation of a sound amplication system and the completion of a new reception area and creche.

1996: 'Spring Into Life' Mission at Emmanuel
Numerous family events took place at Emmanuel to encourage people into church. Amongst the speakers was St. Helens Rugby League Club player Apollo Perelini.

1999: New Years' Eve Celebration
A fun day on New Years' Eve, followed by a Watchnight Service and fireworks to welcome in the new millennium.
