Although many people are Baptised when they are very young, if you were not it is still possible to be Baptised as a teenager or an adult.

Baptism is an ancient custom. The Bible records that Jesus Himself was Baptised in the River Jordan by John the Baptist. As an adult presenting yourself for Baptism, you will be making a public declaration and affirmation of your Christian faith.

Those Baptised as children who continue in the faith will likely present themselves for Confirmation when they are ready to take on the vows made by their parents and godparents at their Baptism for themselves.

Adults who are being Baptised may find that it is suggested they be Baptised at a Confirmation Service. They will then be Confirmed in their faith and admitted for their first Holy Communion. These matters will be discussed with you while making preparations.

Baptisms and Confirmations in the Church of England are free, but there may be a small charge for the Certificate of Baptism - you should discuss this when making arrangements with us.
