A couple who are already married (after, for instance, a Civil Ceremony) may reach a stage where they wish to dedicate their marriage to God. The Service of Marriage Dedication makes provision for such an occasion.

It should be noted that this service is not a Marriage, as this has already taken place. Banns will not be read in church, rings will not be given and there will be no entry made into the church Register of Marriages.
