The following is a breakdown of the cost of a wedding service at St. Johns Church, Ravenhead.

Various fees are set on a Church of England wedding. Some by are set by Parliament, some by the Diocese of Liverpool and others by St. Johns Parochial Church Council.

The fees usually increase in January each year, the fee applicable to your wedding will those in force on your wedding day.

Statutory Fees Payable for a Wedding in the Church of England(2011/2012)

Publication of the Banns of Marriage - £22.00
This is a legal requirement, announcing your intention to marry to the church and the local community.

Certificate of the Banns of Marriage - £12.00
This is your proof that the banns have been read correctly and that your wedding can proceed.

Wedding Service in a Church of England parish church - £262.00
This fee includes the use of the church building, the cost of the wedding ceremony, a payment which will form part of the Vicar's annual stipend and supports the provision of a church for the community.

Additional Fees

Certificate of Marriage (at the time of registration) - £3.50

Certificate of Marriage (after registration) - £9.00

Further reasonable fees will be payable to cover the costs of heating, lighting, buildings and grounds maintainence, as well as the Verger, who will open and prepare the church for your wedding.

Optional Fees

Other optional fees may be payable should you require extras such as flowers or an organist.

Prices correct at time of publication. The fees above are those for 2011, which The Church of England have stated will remain in force into the first months of 2012. Changes to the fees were proposed and amended by the General Synod during its February 2012 sitting. The Archbishops' Council will make a further announcement in due course.
