Advent & Christmas
The beginning of the new Church year takes place on Advent Sunday, as Christians prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ at Christmas. This is one of the most important occasions in the history of the world and it is marked by several special services at St. Johns & Emmanuel.

The Christian festival of Easter celebrates a defining moment in the history of our faith: the moment the Son of God, Jesus Christ, died as a ransom for the sin of mankind and then triumped over death through His resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Harvest Festival
Christians around the world celebrate the provisions given to mankind by the Lord God through His creation. It is a sad indicment of our world that there is plenty to go around, yet many go without. Harvest services often aim to gather food or funds for those who do not have enough.
In 2009, we held a token harvest - this means an additional monetary collection was taken, with the proceeds given to Water Aid.
Harvest Festival Services 2010:
Sunday 3rd October 2010, 8:30am, 10:45am at St. Johns
