Emmanuel Church and its predecessor, the Close House Mission Rooms, served the people of Thatto Heath as a mission Church for over 100 years.

This began in the early 1900s, when the land and its buildings were left to the Church for use as a vicarage and Sunday School.

In 2017, a sale of the building and land was completed by St John's Church PCC.

The last Church building on the Emmanuel site celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015.




Many of our most popular young people's activities throughout the years have met at Emmanuel, including the much loved 'Campaigners' uniformed organisation.
