St John's will host an organ recital given by David Poulter, the Director of Music at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, at 7:30pm on Friday 28th October 2016.

David, who has held his post at Liverpool Cathedral since 2008, has travelled extensively as a recitalist and as a conductor, across Europe and beyond. He has featured as a soloist on BBC Radio 3 with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and on a number of recordings.

David comes with an impressive CV, holding diplomas of The Royal College of Organists, The Royal College of Music, The Royal Schools of Music and Trinity College of Music.

Before arriving at Liverpool, he previously held positions at Rochester Cathedral, Cranbrook School & Parish Church, Tunbridge Wells Girls' Grammar School, Coventry Cathedral, Coventry University and Chester Cathedral.

Organists' Review magazine describes David's playing on his 'Organ Music from Chester' CD as "played with fastidious precision and control, and delightfully registered... with affection and charm in his playing... well worth hearing."

We look forward to hearing David play our Wadsworth & Brother pipe organ. The concert is open to all and tickets can be reserved online, or purchased directly in Church. Remaining tickets will be available on the door.
